How can it be that future predictions have to do with the past? Why is it when a psychic carries out a reading that tunes into future predictions, she sometimes she will pick up visions of us in another dimension, or another life? Let us explain.

In her book “Reiki and Other Rays of Healing” Kathleen Milner an American healer and past life regressionist describes how sometimes a client “will flip into a past life, without being hypnotically regressed during a session”.

She says, “One gentleman, a former priest, objected dramatically to the possibility of past lives before he came for a healing with me. He even asked me if it was necessary for him to believe in reincarnation in order for him to schedule an appointment to see me. I responded that it didn’t matter to me whether or not he believed in reincarnation. Then he asked me if I was going to try to talk him into believing reincarnation. I answered no. However, during the session he found himself dramatically experiencing another lifetime as a Mayan priest. In journeying through the temple we found souls held earthbound within a dark room. We were asked by the angels and spirit guides present with us to lead those lost souls back into the Light.”

Past life regressions usually take the subject deep into hypnotic trance and during that process old guilt of actions past and grief feelings can be released.

Kathleen describes a past life incident with Charlotte in New York when “she went back to a lifetime where she was a high priestess in the Temple of Isis” and managed to release blocked issues that harked back to some of the more dramatic initiation processes. Kathleen then asked her how “How the situation she was experiencing in a past life related to her current life?” When Charlotte saw the connections she released some very challenging emotional issues and experienced great relief.

Kathleen also tells us about Mary. “Mary was suffering a very bad marriage but could not leave her husband. In a past life regression she returned to a life where she had been a badly battered woman. She had left her husband and taken their two children to another town where she became a beggar in that past life. One of the children died shortly afterwards. Later a man took both her and her surviving child in. He ignored her child who later ran away. She died in shame, guilt and fear.

Mary understood at last why every time she wanted to leave her present husband, a terrible unknown fear would consume her. Somewhere in her subconscious was lurking the memory that if she left her husband things would get worse. By facing up to this fear, she broke the link and managed to survive well as a single.

An experience of past life regression is a stimulating and transforming one and can be one of great insight. Hypnotic techniques, as we said, are often used to regress the person, whilst in a deep trance they are guided back through their teenage and childhood years, even beyond their mother’s womb to awareness of the astral planes and the experience of other incarnations.
