Okay, got your crme de menthe by your side. We are about to report on the creepy “Mothman Prophecies” and when it comes to future predictions they “take the cake”, as it were.

As stated by About.com. “In November of 1966, in a quiet little town on the banks of the old Ohio some paranormal researchers gathered to view a film called the Mothman Prophecies!

The Mothman event stands as one of the most peculiar and multi layered episodes in the annals of paranormal phenomena. So many odd things were taking place that a list of them looks like an entire season of the X files.

1. Sightings of the Mothman creature himself.

2. UFO sightings.

3. Men in black appearances.

4. Phantom phone calls.

5. Eerie predictions and spontaneous prophecies.

6. Missing time.

7. Animal mutilations.

8. Strange coincidences and repeating numbers.

Mothman Prophecies The Movie

The Movie version of the Mothman Prophecies recounted the scary story from the 1960s to the present day. It added phenomena that never took place however. Richard Gere, whose character was based on John A Keel, was not true to life at all and many events were fictionalized, but the basis of the horrifying events remained the same.

Mr. John Keel who was a successful reporter for the Washington Post was virtually magnetized to Point Pleasant, a well known bird sanctuary, two years after the death of his wife. In the film it alludes she was killed in a car accident after a sighting of Mothman. In reality Keel was indeed drawn to the area because of reported sightings of the Mothman, but also because of the witness reports and those weird humming noises. Keel would soon be caught up in a vortex of phenomena he could not explain.

Mass hysteria let rip as many sighted a weird monster, soon to be nominated the Mothman. Two couples reported a man, over 6 feet tall, with wings and he flew after their car! In fact, his wing span was virtually ten feet in diameter. One of the couples claimed that the creature looked like a big mouse with a brown face and two huge glowing eyes, Two red objects were also reported hovering over a field at some point. As the sightings increased, premonitions of impending disasters did too.

What was especially eerie about the sightings was the aforementioned “premonition factor” and the fact that a terrible disaster did indeed occur in the area when the Silver Bridge collapsed and 47 people lost their lives. Some people believe the sightings of the Mothman were warnings of that event. The fact is the creepy creature was also seen before other tragic events, including the Mexico City earthquake in 1985.

Could future predictions really come in these types of formats? We know that psychics and empaths are adept at making future predictions. But could rarer types of future predictions be signals, or warnings of catastrophes to come, like those of the eerie Mothman? Perhaps the appearance of UFO craft over certain areas prior to earthquakes could come under the same category?

Urban Myth tells us a UFO was spotted over the twin towers before the most horrific terrorist attack in human history. Perhaps we need to ask ourselves whether these events are more than mere mysteries, more even than predictions? Perhaps we need to ask whether we are living within multi-faceted universes and realities and one of those universes could coincide, or bang up against another for reasons beyond our control? The fact is we know little of the Creator’s Plan and if the Mothman comes into it, we understand even less,
