Psychic Highway

The psychic highway could be seen as a path to personal growth, paranormal understanding and an opening of the soul to its higher purpose.

Which Psychic Highway?

So what psychic highway are you choosing? Do you wish to become a professional empath because you were super intuitive as a child and still are? Do you yearn for your soul to be nourished and transformed? Maybe you are choosing a psychic highway because you want to understand the paranormal worlds. Perhaps you are very in earnest about your evolution and have started to follow a precise spiritual belief system of your own, such as the American Indian path to wisdom.

Sequoyah Trueblood

Sequoyah Trueblood, a pipe carrying Choctaw elder, who was interviewed by the Sacred Awakening Online series says, “Every experience is a necessary component of arriving at a place where each one of us can become a mirror of peace and help others to become aware of our collective spiritual nature.”

Sequoyah Trueblood explains our difficult times. “All wars, all arguments seeing things in hurtful ways has to do with judgment. The greatest source of suffering is people wanting things different to what they are. All of us on mother earth are in a “spirit canoe” sailing across the sea of consciousness together. Everyone has a different seat in the canoe, so everyone has a different perspective. By sharing these perspectives, pieces of truth come together”.

Sequoyah talks about how we can utilise vision quests to find answers to our deepest questions about Spirit. He tells us that a human being can integrate their soul journey into such a ritual. The American Indians would send their young out into the wilderness to accomplish vision quests, coupled with a period of fasting. Any wild animal that would appear to them during this process was considered a life guardian. Often an individual would see the spirits of ancestors, or experience powerful visions. The vision quest is still considered a grand experience, a rite of passage that takes into account individual characteristics and tendencies and how we express ourselves in crisis.

Your Vision Quest

Your own vision quest could start with a long walk in the wild, fasting, cutting down on sleep or even shutting yourself up in an enclosed space like a room or tent. The logistics of a vision quest include some basic knowledge of meditation, an ability to pitch a tent, fast or perhaps even bring an instrument along so you can play or chant. Bongo drums are an asset during vision quests.

These quests are normally undertaken with supervision and you are strongly advised not to participate in one without guidance. A normal vision quest lasts about four days and during that period you can do nothing other than look deep into your soul. You could also create a stone circle and write your experiences and thoughts in a diary for future reference. At some stage during the quest you might feel you cannot go on and want to run away. But if you stick it out, the result could be enhanced spiritual knowledge, the flowering of psychic gifts and a deep sense of happiness. The results of a vision quest could also help you go far beyond limited thinking formats, feel closer to nature and commune with spirits, or the deceased. A vision quest could also hone into your true life mission and heal any spiritual or emotional imbalances.

The choice of undertaking a vision question is indeed only one, it is one for those who are truly following the psychic highway.
