Lovespell

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet does not hate the Chinese, who have held his country hostage since he was 15 years old. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhists and like all beings of light, he is childlike with a great sense of humour and a modest demeanour. In fact, he giggles at his own jokes and others! But when he was 15 years old there was little to laugh about. Tibet had lost its freedom, the Chinese were to take away the rights of the Tibetan people to practice their Buddhist religion. The Dalai Lama had to flee from his beloved country, well aware of the tortures the Tibetans would undergo. Yet, for all the pain and injustice suffered by his people, the Dalai Lama still encourages us to be open-hearted, if you like to weave a magical lovespell into our lives with prayer, service and giving.

The Dalai Lama tells us that the main purpose of life is about serving, helping and contributing some happiness to others and the Dalai Lama’s perceptions are not limited to Buddhists alone. In fact, the depth of his loving heart is great enough to weave a lovespell around every single religion, country, belief system and individual on this earth, because love relieves pain and fear and fills lives with care, consideration and kindness.

The Dalai Lama believes we must all find that lost compassion within our hearts again. He says that if we were able to save but one child or one person, in our life time that should be the basis of a tremendous sense achievement.

Positive and Negative

Look only at the positive things in life. Never lose hope, never give up. Reality is both positive and negative, but we need to choose to see mainly the positive, he says.

The need for love lies at the very foundation of human existence. It results from the profound interdependence we all share with one another. However capable and skilful an individual may be, left alone, he or she will not survive.

Definition of Love

So what significance does a lovespell have when we hear the Dalai Lama’s wise words? Could real love be about helping others and could one of the easiest ways to find love is to become the loving person we seek?

We are inclined to perceive a lovespell as a magical invocation for romance alone. Yet the Dalai Lama challenges us to weave something more into such magical potential. For the Dalai Lama is the “Bodhisattva of Compassion” and in the Buddhist religion a Bodhisattva is a light-filled being who feels nothing but empathy for his fellow man and strives to bring relief, ease and help wherever he goes,

The Dalai Lama says, “I always have concerns about the future of humanity because I see that it is everybody’s responsibility. Many of us are facing moments of crisis, but I believe a happy life on an individual, family or community level is ultimately due to our open heartedness”.

Yet the question is how do we move beyond the suffering we see all around us? How do we take the sadness out of our lives?

We must not look at the negative sides; there must be positive results in what we do. So we must remain optimistic, answers The Dalai Lama.

Life Purpose

“I believe that the purpose of life is to be happy. From the moment of birth, every human being wants happiness and does not want suffering. Neither social conditioning nor education nor ideology affects this. From the very core of our being, we simply desire contentment. I don’t know whether the universe, with its countless galaxies, stars and planets, has a deeper meaning or not, but at the very least, it is clear that we humans who live on this earth face the task of making a happy life for ourselves.

From my own limited experience I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquillity comes from the development of love and compassion.”””

So could such compassion, kindness, empathy, sympathy and loving care be the ultimate love spell? Certainly, any empath only pours affirmatives into their white magic. But yet, we must be certain that what we want is the best for all concerned, when we ask for any love spell to be woven and then perhaps we will find the real happiness we seek!
