Tarot Card Reading

A good psychic will study the more subterranean meanings of the cards and perceive the life path moving within an individual’s life. She will see through our masks as she deciphers a tarot card reading. In fact, her sensitive perceptions can tune into to our soul archetype. For example she can spot a dreamy Sleeping Beauty type in a Princess of Hearts, waiting for life to wake her up. Or a Cinderella sub personality looking for her prince, sometimes a Princess of Wands card upside down – yet with luck on her side.

The Pages, Princesses, Kings and Queens of the tarot card reading, are aspects of ourselves and the needs and projections we reflect on to those around us. We might be looking for the King of Swords to fix things, for example, a man who analyses and reflects, detached from most human emotions to sort out our financial problems, or a King of Hearts, a larger than life, magnanimous personality to fall in love with and protect us. Yes a tarot card reading can be more than accurate, yet it could not have stopped Princess Diana from going to Paris all those years ago.

Princess Diana

Diana yearned to be our Queen of Hearts and openly said so. And indeed she succeeded in her soul mission for she was beloved and adored by the people. Yet she paid a high price for their worship. Diana was a perfect Queen of Cups, emotional and sensitive, open hearted and vulnerable. She was someone we identified with, someone we recognised at first glance. Strangely, Diana was an eerie lookalike for the Queen of Cups in most tarot decks, sweet, blonde, slim, sitting on her throne and gazing at the Cup of Love she holds in her hand. Perhaps she was afraid of dropping it in the mud and losing everything. In fact she did, because Diana became a symbol for wronged motherhood, betrayed women and her demise read like a Shakespearian tragedy. Her life was full of loss, lies, betrayal and emotional injustice.

How far she had come from the sweet girl on her wedding day however, dressed in the purest white, virginal and stunningly beautiful as she hung on Prince Charles’s arm. Yet under that shy gaze and those upturned eyelashes she hid the more watery depths and darker recesses of her sun sign Cancer and perhaps nurtured an unconscious need to acknowledge a truth that would cost her life. The fact is that somehow she stepped beyond a line and when she did evil forces of power and control took over her life.

If Diana had had a tarot card reading done prior to her trip to Paris with Dodi she might have realized that she was in danger. She was just about to free herself from the clutches of the royal family and social prominence. She wanted an authentic life, but she was struck down by a shadowy force, perhaps her own, perhaps that of others’. We see the Devil Card in her tarot card reading. A Devil who let leash insidious energies that sabotaged her emotional evolution, destroyed her purity and transformed her into a classic archetype, just the job for betrayal and Greek-flavoured tragedy. One could say Diana died of a broken heart, for she was let down by the very people who should have protected her as a little girl and in adulthood.

To her adoring public, she is an eternally beautiful woman who has left them bereft. Diana will always remain that sweet queen, pure, emotional, a fighter, a woman who refused to be bullied by the power brokers, who stood up for what she wanted beyond the disclosures, scandals and let downs. She indeed was a poster child for the minorities, the terminally ill, the tortured and the persecuted.

A reading would have pointed that out to her long before she left for Paris and perhaps warned her of the coming tragedy. But the forces of destiny were too strong, even for her. Jung the great psychoanalyst states that Destiny is what we don’t know about ourselves. So perhaps she would not have wanted to hear the metaphysical advice that was coming her way and would have shut her ears to it. Perhaps she decided she would move on to become more grounded, to be more of herself, to enjoy her life at last.

We will never know the truth. But we lost our Queen of Hearts and many of us will regret her demise till the end of our days.
